Oil Booms

Swimming Lines

Containment booming is the process of preventing the spread of an oil spill by confining the oil to the area in which it has been discharged. The purpose of containment is not only to localize the spill and thus minimize pollution but to assist in the removal of the oil by concentrating it in thick layers on the surface of the water.

The North West Marine Oil boom serves as a floating barrier and is generally used in cleaning up oil on the surface of the water. The boom can be used to contain, collect, absorb, deflect and barricade oil from certain areas

The boom can also be used to divert pollutants to areas where cleanup can be conducted and to protect specific areas such as entrances to harbours and rivers or other environmentally or economically sensitive areas.

Our swimming lines are intended to highlight to the public areas explicitly set aside for swimming. Often these areas are also patrolled by lifeguards. They are also useful in warding off any unwanted crafts like boats and jet skis .
Our Swimming lines line can be custom manufactured to suit your marine requirements. Let us help you design the system that best suits your area.
